FFDShow - Make AVIs

Ok, it is now time to make the AVI files for you to edit with. This can be done many ways, the easiest way to do it is to simple use FFDShow, to access it go to

Start > Programs > ffdshow > make AVIs

This is the Fastest way to make a Fake AVI file to use for editing. A lot of people just use AVS scripts inside of Adobe Premiere to edit with. For me, I like to edit with multiple programs, and some (like After Effects) can't imort AVS files. This is why I have included MakeAVIS.

There it is, Notice at the top, the "AviSynth script" file. This is where you will be importing your AVS script. Click on the top "..." and locate the AVS script for your dvd. Once you have it open it and make sure your output is set on AVI, not WAV.

Also, since I like to be able to use my files in After Effects, Ialways force output colorspace to RGB24. I also dont want any audio in my file, because it tends to not work right.. Now it is time to create your "Fake" Avi file. Click Create and in a matter of seconds it makes an Avi file for you.. (this avi file is using the VOB, d2v, and AVS scripts you have just created, so any changes you make to your files will apply to the avi file. If you need to change anything on the avs scripts, like aspect ratio, you can do it, but make sure that you re-create the "fake" avi file!)
One more thing I need to mention. If you create the fake avi files, make sure they work in some type of media player or in VDub, if they dont open you may need to get newer version of ffdshow. amv.org Forums usually have ffdshow if you need it!

Now you are ready to edit!

Once you have comleted your AMV Editing, lets compress it for the internet with Vdub.
